Joomla 1.7.0 Stable has been released

Joomla 1.7.0 Stable has been released. This new version is a testament to the dedication to the new 6 month release cycle that the Production Leadership Team has committed themselves to.
Joomla 1.7 offers some nice new enhancements such as
- Better security
- Simple Migration/Upgrade Process
- One Click Updates
- 6 Month Release Cycle
- The Joomla Framework is now separated from the CMS itself
- Developers can create extensions more easily
Version 1.6.5 will reach end of life one month from today, on 19 August 2011. All users of version 1.6 should update to version 1.7.0 before that time. The update process is very simple, and complete instructions are available here.
