Joomla! 1.6 custom profiles – adding more user profile fields

As you know Joomla! 1.6 have a new plugin named User – Profile, with this plugin you can add more profile fields for joomla users. But, this plugin is limited to some extra fields, if you want to add more custom ones you will have to manually modify some joomla files.
The good news is that we will release a new version for ARRA User Export Import for Joomla! 1.6 that will have implemented this feature: adding more custom joomla user profile fields and possibility to edit them.

How to download latest version
You can check at any time if you are running latest version of component.
Just click on “Main” tab in admin and on the right side “About” section you will see Installed version number. Just under it is also Latest Version number, if is lower then click on version number and you will get in ARRA User Export Import for Joomla! 1.6 page.
If you are logged, on the left is Products module, just click on Orders & Billing, this will open http://www.joomlarra.com/view-your-account-details.html page.
Click on “View” and in new page just scroll down, you will see the component name and link to latest version available. Click on link and you will get your component copy. You will see also license availability, is one year after purchasing date.
Install it using Joomla! installer and you are up to date!
Export Import Joomla 1.5 users – new version released

Thanks to Kim, we added few new modifications in Joomla! 1.5 version of our component. Very soon we will add these modifications in our commercial version too.
So, from now one, the password encryption method is just like the Joomla does, when the passwords are created they are hashed with a 32 character salt that is appended to the end of the password string. The password is stored as {TOTAL HASH}:{ORIGINAL SALT}.
Also, we added export import of user params.
